About Pablo Uría
I draw stories
and the worlds they inhabit.
I’m Pablo Uría, an editorial and graphic illustrator based in Pamplona, Spain. I hold a Fine Arts degree from UPV/EHU and have over twenty years of experience.
I create illustrated maps, book covers and interior artwork for publishers, independent authors and cultural projects. My clients include Planeta, Minotauro, Penguin Random House, Esencia and Santillana.
Understanding the world before drawing it
Maps bring together research, narrative and drawing. My starting point is understanding how a world works, so its geography can become part of the reading experience.
Published projects include the maps for La sombra del loto negro, the novel awarded the 2026 Minotauro Prize, and Los Ocho Velos and La profecía olvidada, published by Esencia.
Working together
I work in Spanish and English with clients in Spain and internationally. I also work in graphic design and cultural communication.
