Graphic and Editorial Illustrator
for books and novels
I’m Pablo Uría, a freelance graphic and editorial illustrator specializing in illustration for books, novels, and publishing projects. For more than twenty years I’ve been creating images that accompany, enrich, and expand the visual universe of stories. My work as an editorial illustrator involves turning ideas, scenes, and characters into images that help readers immerse themselves in the world of the story. Throughout my career I’ve collaborated with numerous publishers and authors, creating book covers, interior illustrations, and illustrated maps for novels.
Book Cover Illustrator
The cover is the first image a reader has of a novel. That’s why it’s essential that it conveys the essence of the story and grabs attention from the very first moment. I design and illustrate book and novel covers, adapting the visual style to the genre and target audience: fantasy, science fiction, horror, historical fiction, or young adult literature.
Interior illustrations for novels
In addition to the cover, many novels include interior illustrations that help reinforce the narrative universe. These illustrations can depict: characters key scenes from the story objects or elements of the fictional world The goal is to enrich the reading experience and add a visual dimension to the story.
Editorial illustration for publishers and authors
Editorial illustration is a fundamental tool in the book publishing process. A good illustration can convey the tone of the story, introduce the characters, or reinforce the narrative atmosphere of a work. As a freelance editorial illustrator, I work with both publishers and independent authors who want to give visual shape to their literary project.
Illustrated maps for fantasy novels
Throughout my career I have collaborated with different publishers and writers, creating illustrations for books, magazines and cultural projects.
Fantasy, science fiction and horror illustration
Fantasy, science fiction and horror illustration makes it possible to create unique visual universes that accompany and enrich stories. As an editorial illustrator specializing in fantastical genres, I enjoy giving shape to imaginary worlds, extraordinary creatures and scenes full of mystery. These genres offer great creative freedom. Illustrations can range from fantasy continents and impossible cities to spaceships, futuristic landscapes or the dark creatures typical of horror. Throughout my career I have created illustrations for fantasy, science fiction and horror novels, as well as illustrated maps and genre book covers. Each project requires a different visual approach, so I adapt the graphic style to the atmosphere and narrative universe of the work. Fantasy illustration makes it possible to build complete worlds that help the reader imagine the story and immerse themselves in it from the very first page. If you are writing a fantasy, science fiction or horror novel and need an illustrator for your book, I would be delighted to help you create the visual universe of your story.
Children’s illustration for books and publishing projects
Children’s illustration has the power to tell stories through images full of imagination, color and emotion. As an editorial illustrator, I enjoy creating characters, settings and situations that connect with the curiosity and sensitivity of younger readers. Illustrations for children’s books help support the narrative, reinforce understanding of the story and spark children’s imagination. They can be character illustrations, narrative scenes or fantastical worlds that invite readers to explore the story page by page. I have worked on illustrations for children’s books, educational projects and publishing materials, adapting the visual style to the audience’s age and the tone of each story. Each children’s project calls for its own visual language: from softer, more expressive styles to more dynamic, narrative illustrations. If you are developing a children’s book or a publishing project for kids and need a children’s illustrator, feel free to get in touch to discuss your idea.
